Mojo Helpdesk at TCEA 2026: What We Heard from Education IT Teams
Mojo Helpdesk CEO Daniel Guermeur attended the 2026 TCEA Convention & Expo in San Antonio, Texas, connecting with K-12 and higher education IT teams from across the country.
TCEA is always a great pulse check on what’s happening in education IT and this year confirmed something we hear every day from our customers: teams are being asked to do more with less, and complexity is not an option.

What Stood Out on the TCEA Expo Floor
Walking the expo floor, a few clear patterns emerged from the language, visuals, and themes repeated throughout the conference.
AI is part of the baseline conversation
AI showed up consistently, especially in the context of helping teachers and supporting students. AI was positioned as a tool to amplify educator impact by saving time and reducing manual tasks. Even as technology becomes more advanced, its value is still measured by how directly it supports students and everyday learning in the classroom.

Security is inseparable from daily operations
School cybersecurity was highly visible, reinforcing that protecting systems, devices, and data is foundational, not optional. For IT teams, trust and reliability are critical to keeping schools running smoothly.

Practicality matters more than flash
The strongest signal wasn’t about cutting-edge features. It was about tools that work in real school environments. Messaging consistently pointed toward solutions that are easy to adopt, scalable across districts, and manageable for small, busy teams.
We’re glad to have been part of the conversations in San Antonio and to continue learning from the education community.
